Russia-Zimbabwe: Memorandum on Cooperation in Space
On November 1, 2021 in Moscow talks were conducted between Deputy Director General of the State Corporation Roscosmos Oleg Frolov and Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development of the Republic of Zimbabwe Hon. Raymore Machingura accompanied by Coordinator of the National Geospatial and Space Agency of Zimbabwe (ZINGSA) Mr. Painos Gweme.
During the meeting Roscosmos and ZINGSA signed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. The discussion was focused on prospects of Russia-Zimbabwe cooperation on remote sensing of the Earth for meteorology and agriculture, on satellite navigation, broadcasting and information technologies, personnel education and training.
The Zimbabwean delegation has also visited some facilities of the Russian space industry.
